Sessions for individuals to increase somatic awareness and access to pleasure is the most common root service that I provide as a somatic sex educator. It was through attending individual sessions with a somatic sex education practitioner that I experienced a transformation with my sex life. In those sessions, I learned how to tap into my own body wisdom and access more sexual pleasure and healing.
Sessions for individuals to increase comfort and skill development in intimate relationships is the root service that I provide as a surrogate partner. This service is the gold star of services to affect permanent change for those impacted by current barriers to achieving successful romantic relationships. In these sessions, I act as a temporary partner and clients receive the teachings and practice of actually being in relationship with me. Individual sessions with the partnering therapist run concurrently, with the surrogate partner sessions, and help the client to integrate the learning that can affect permanent changes to relationship patterns.

Intake Process
I invite new somatic sex education clients to complete a detailed intake process and intake form to ensure they fully understand the service and to ensure my service is suited to their individualized needs and expectations. It also provides valuable information for me about the client’s goals and sexual and medical history.
My guidelines for ethical practice are outlined in my intake form, and new adult clients are asked to acknowledge and initial these agreements and provide written consent if they wish to include bodywork in their sessions.
The intake process also serves as an initial period of engagement for myself and my client to become more familiar and at ease with each other. This lays the foundation for our work together. The intake form is posted on my website. It must be completed and sent to me prior to booking the first session so I have time to review the informationThe intake process for Surrogate Partner Therapy is different from that of somatic sex education.
For surrogate partner therapy, clients can contact me directly or have their therapist reach out to begin the intake process. Typically, this involves clear communication between myself, the client, and their therapist to ensure a triadic model of care. If a client does not already have a therapist, I can assist in finding one who is willing to work with us in this therapeutic approach. This collaboration ensures that the client receives the most comprehensive care as they navigate the process of healing and growth in intimacy.
Session Openings
Sessions begin with an initial engagement period between myself and my client to help us connect with ease and establish an energy connection for our work together in the session. We discuss client intentions or goals for the session. We also review respective client and practitioner agreements governing the session.

Clients choose at the beginning of every session whether they want a talk-based session only or a combined talk-based and body-based session that includes bodywork. If the client chooses bodywork, they also choose upfront between touch that is erotic or touch that is not erotic.
This is followed with mindfulness and relaxation exercises to create an open heart-space and sense of presence to support learning and pleasure experiences.
With heart-space open, I invite an open discussion with clients about identifying power dynamics or naming any differences and potential fears, hesitations, or objections to our working together in this way. Just by naming the issues or dynamics, and giving them transparency and open space for discussion, seems to clear the way. This exercise results in a more relaxed and free-flowing session uncluttered with unspoken and unresolved issues that could interfere with the full learning and pleasure experience in the session.
In sessions, clients can choose to be fully clothed or fully undressed, or somewhere in between. I coach clients to embrace and mobilize their own inherent creative life-force erotic energy for their own pleasure and/or healing through a range of gentle somatic practices and exercises.
This is offered through talk-based coaching or touch-based bodywork depending on client’s choice of approach. When bodywork is chosen, the touch given can be provided by me or I can be witness to self-touch for and by the client. If bodywork is chosen for on-line sessions, I guide and support a client’s self-touch either on or off camera, based on the client’s choice.
In-Person Bodywork Sessions

With in-person sessions where touch is requested, I guide clients with mindfulness, presence, and relaxation exercises to begin the bodywork segment of the session. Then I ask clients to scan their whole body, take a sacred pause, discern where they would like to be touched and practice asking for the precise touch that brings them pleasure.
I guide clients to follow and expand their pleasure with further requests for touch. All touch practices and exercises in sessions must be clearly requested and fully consented by adult clients at the onset of the session.
In-person sessions can involve specific kinds of non-erotic or erotic touch that is comfort-focused or pleasure-focused. Or in-person sessions can involve talk-based coaching only based on the client’s choice for that day. Some of the common pleasure-focused touch exercises used in sessions are waking up the hands, waking up the neighbourhood, pleasure mapping or pleasure massage. Some of the common comfort-focused touch exercises for healing are scar tissue remediation, gentle holding or other guided somatic exercises to sooth and unwind sexual trauma.
I support clients to experiment with elements like breath, movement, sounds, sensations, smells and several other inquiries to discover new ways to access more somatic awareness, sexual pleasure, and sexual healing in their life.
Access to expanded erotic pleasure, orgasms with increased intensity and connection to sacred sexuality via ecstatic trance states is possible as clients learn to know their own desires better. And sexual pleasure and healing is expanded as clients tap more into the wisdom of their body in a safe shame-free environment.
All of the somatic exercises and approaches outlined here are utilized with both modalities, somatic sex education and surrogate partner sessions, however in surrogate partner sessions there is also greater ongoing collaboration with the partnering therapist. Additionally the exercises are also geared more towards the development and practice of intimate relationship skills by use of the temporary intimate relationship that develops between the client and myself.
On-line Sessions

On-line sessions can include bodywork too if chosen at the beginning of the session. Clients are guided and witnessed in self-touch. Self touch and witnessing are also useful somatic approaches that offer erotic pleasure and healing for clients.
Session Closings
Space is left at close of the session for quiet savouring time and discussion time for reflection about the session. The session ends with closing the energy connections between us and discussing thoughts about potential next steps.
Somatic sex education clients may attend one session only, a series of sessions or intermittent sessions dependent on their learning needs and desires. For deeper work together that affects the most lasting changes and benefits to clients, attending a series of sessions is recommended.
Surrogate partner clients attend regular sessions over a matter of months as agreed upon in the therapy plan as set out by the triadic model team.
I offer home practice suggestions and referrals to other resources and allied professionals to support client’s self-identified goals for increased somatic awareness, sexual pleasure, and sexual healing.
Follow-up Aftercare
I follow-up with my somatic sex education clients by sending out a monthly email practice update that informs clients about my new trainings, service offerings or developments of interest to them. With my regular clients where I have formed longer-term connections, I may follow up with a personal email if I have reason to do so such as if I have a concern about them or if come across a resource or information that I think might be helpful to them. Receiving this monthly email practice update is optional and some clients prefer to not receive this monthly email.
With my surrogate partner therapy clients, my follow-up, or between session contact with clients and with their therapist, is discussed and determined in the course of the therapy plan.
